Bizarre adventure game inside a toilet
Toilet Chronicles is a premium adventure game for PC made by developer Madi Abdykarimov. It is a first-person horror-comedy wherein players find themselves hilariously trapped inside a public restroom and have to find a way to escape by any means necessary.
Similar to Firewatch of Gone Home, Toilet Chronicles is a game that focuses more on the story and adventure rather than providing fast-paced and action-packed combat. What makes it standout more is the fact that everything takes place inside a public restroom, making for one of the most bizarre locations yet for its type of game.
Pass the toilet paper
Going to any public restroom is one of the worst experiences anyone could ever have in their life. From dirty toilet seats to vandalized walls, and lack of soap and water, they are not exactly what you would call hygienic places. Imagine being inside one of those stalls and getting trapped, and you get Toilet Chronicles, a game that is exactly about that very situation.
In this game you use a public restroom to go about your business as usual. Suddenly, the guy from the next stall asks for some toilet paper. If you decide to give him some, he will warn you to "stay in the cabin." When you exit, you realize the way out is gone. You now have to figure out what happened and if the mysterious person was somehow involved.
As you inspect the public restroom, there are various puzzles and clues to give you a sense of what's going on. Escape alone or together—it's up to you. What's more, the game features multiple endings, warranting a few more playthroughs if you want. One thing to note is that there's a QR code printed on the wall that leads to a rather questionable website if you scan it.
Dirty business
Toilet Chronicles is one of the more bizarre adventure games available right now. From its distinct setting to its story and gameplay, it offers quite an experience if you're looking for something different to try out. The aforementioned QR code thing is a bit shady, so best just to ignore it. For everything else, you'll get a laugh or two out of it.
